Working nights as a milkman I get to see a different side of the city. You get to meet the scammers always asking for money and forgetting they used the same story on you the night before. The people who appear to think they have little to contribute to society. You also meet the down and outs who have given up.
For me I am fortunate enough to get to know the local dumpster divers. I am also fortunate to get to meet the givers who just want to help. Unfortunately I see many of the homeless of our city. Many of them are having to sleep outside in all kinds of weather. So, it seems I get to meet the mean and miserable as well as the kind and gentle spirits. All of them need prayer. All of them need Jesus.
Life happens. Remember to keep in touch with those that matter. We all matter to God. He knows each one us by name. He communicates with us but do we listen? Our busiest times are probably the most important times for us to be talking and listening to God.
That is when I find myself in a conundrum. I know prayer is important. But is prayer enough. So I ask God is there something more I can do to help. Often He gives me an answer. But other times He lets me know praying is all I can do. So I keep praying, I try to listen carefully to what God is saying to me and then I attempt to be obedient.
Praying and obedience go hand in hand. Often all we can do is pray. Other times we have to listen as we pray and be obedient to what God is asking us to do. One thing I know for sure “never stop praying”.
