Mixed messages abound in our world. It is okay to be different but don’t be different from the rest of us. It is encouraged to be creative but not in a way that is out of the norm. It is okay to have your own moral standard as long it does not conflict with that of secular society. Questions are encouraged as long as they do not conflict with pre-established answers.
So, when we look at how Jesus taught it is no wonder the authorities of his world felt threatened. He was different in a way not like the rest. He was creative outside the norm. He had a moral standard that conflicted with his society. He liked to ask and be asked questions. However his questions and his response to their questions were not what the they wanted or expected.
What are some of the ways you respond to the mixed messages?
What would be Jesus’ response?
““Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”” Matthew 5: 14-16 TPT
