1. Support Our Vulnerable Populations
If possible donate to charities. Meals, food hampers and safe spaces are desperately needed by those most vulnerable to COVID-19.
“Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9 CSB
2. Help Your Neighbours
Let neighbours know that you are willing to help if they are quarantined. “The second is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”” Is Mark 12:31 CSB
3. Use Tech To Connect
Be intentional about phoning, video calling or texting with someone that is quarantined or feeling isolated by canceled social events. Plan to play games, or eat meals together through Facetime, Zoom, Skype or some other app.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 CSB
4. Let People Know
You might be feeling anxious or are isolated by these circumstances. By letting people know that they can help you, you are creating a more open and honest community that brings hope.
“Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love — but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 CSB
5. Be Courteous and Respectful
Keep washing your hands, keep physical distancing and listening to health authorities. If not for yourself, for the sake of others in the community with depleted immune systems or at risk of getting sick.
“Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4 CSB
