Neighbourhood Chaplains – Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things

Many people are familiar with hospital, military and workplace chaplains. However, if you put the words neighbourhood and chaplain together to form the descriptive title “Neighbourhood Chaplain,” most often you will be met with a look of puzzlement and the obvious question: “What is a Neighbourhood Chaplain?

Simply defined, a “Neighbourhood Chaplain” is one who comes alongside someone during a time of crisis. It has nothing to do with the title rather the function of being a faithful follower of Jesus.

Neighbourhoods, in some primitive, inchoate fashion exist wherever human beings congregate, in permanent family dwellings; and many of the functions of the city tend to be distributed naturally—that is, without any theoretical preoccupation or political direction—into neighbourhoods.” Mumford, Lewis (1954) The Neighbourhood and the Neighbourhood Unit

He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn’t know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, ”The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few.  So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send out more workers for his fields” (Matthew 9:36-38 NLT).

Web ministry is one of our major focuses. Therefore, we would like to introduce you to the possibility of having someone share the potential of digital evangelism with your church, small group or meeting.

Face-to-face or Skype video conferencing

The potential for online evangelism is incredible, and we are eager to share more about it. We can provide speakers for events such as:

  • evangelism-related and mission conferences
  • pastors’ or ministers’ fraternals
  • Bible Colleges
  • seminars
  • communication courses
  • mission agency staff meetings
  • Christian resource exhibitions

We have a panel of speakers who can cover a wide range of subjects within the field of online and mobile evangelism, within a number of countries. They are also available by telephone interview for Christian radio/podcasts and Christian print media articles.

Please note that we are not offering speakers to give Bible teaching or devotional ministry, or to speak at evangelistic events. The purpose of our panel is to offer experts who can speak to Christians about issues relating to internet and digital evangelism.

Web conference alternative by Skype / YahooMessenger with downloaded PPT / GoogleDocs-hosted PPT
We may also be able to offer you a web-conferencing seminar by telephone conference call, or using Skype or other messenger system such as YahooMessenger.

There are other more advanced web conferencing systems, but the Skype method described is quick and easy to set up and works well in practice.

Please do consider such a web evangelism slot within mission, evangelism, communication or pastors conferences, or Bible College course modules. Note that our free downloads: PowerPoint, video clips, handouts, etc. can also enable you to create your own conference seminar, and Internet Ministry Conference video seminars can be shown by projection as another option for your conference.

  • Note our listing of 2009 conferences on web evangelism and related topics.

I know that there are a number of us who would be pleased to share our  enthusiasm for digital ministry with you and give some practical helps for making it an effective tool to reach the world for Christ.

Please request a speaker here.
